


On July 15, the Reserve Bank of Australia published a consultation paper proposing several key changes to the card payments system, including the removal of surcharges on certain card types, a reduction in interchange fee caps for domestic transactions, and the introduction of new caps on foreign card transactions.
Later this month, the New Zealand Commerce Commission is expected to release its final rulemaking, which could have significant implications for interchange fee caps and the broader card payments landscape in the country.
